Bob is proud to be working with friends in the Irmo /Chapin area, especially since he grew up in White Rock and graduated from Chapin High School . After an enjoyable 18 years working with his family's yearbook printing and publishing business, Bob answered 
a call to full time ministry. He knew that he was "in the business of helping to save memories, but wanted to be in the business of helping to save lives." Bob believes in the adage that God has a purpose and a plan for everything. He understands that his extensive experience with church youth groups, students, administration, and even printing and publishing was God's way of preparing him for important tasks as part of his present ministry.
Before joining the Friend Church staff, He served in Student Ministry at Chapin United Methodist Church for three years, during that time he served as the Director for Jeremiah's House, a youth outreach in the Chapin area. As a lay speaker with the United Methodist Church he served as pastor for Zion United Methodist Church in Blythewood , SC. Bob has enjoyed working with the Friend Church team for the past five years.
Bob has great vision and passion for Children's Ministry. He loves having the opportunity to teach and play with kids for a living, but he is very serious about making church an interesting and fun learning experience for all children and their families. He and his team have built a vibrant and innovative Children's Worship program here at Friend Church . His vision is to create experiences by which children come to know Christ and develop a deeper relationship with God.
Bob's interests include golfing, hunting, fishing, camping, photography, bowling and spending time with his family. Bob and his wife, Janis, have been married for 19 years and enjoy serving together in the Children's Ministry at Friend Church . Bob and Janis have two boys, Bobby, 13, and Connor, 11. Both of the boys enjoy the many ins and outs of the Friend Church experience and serve in several areas of the church.
